Frequently Asked Questions
What is ChessHarp?
ChessHarp is a personalized opening trainer. It imports your games from Chess.com or Lichess, lets you define the opening lines you want to learn, and turns the positions where you deviate from those lines into drill puzzles.
How do I get started?
- Register an account and link your Chess.com or Lichess username.
- Wait for your games to import (this happens automatically after registration).
- Go to Openings and add at least one opening with at least one line.
- Open Drill to start practicing.
Why don't I see any drills?
Drills are generated from positions where you deviated from one of your saved opening lines. If you haven't saved any openings yet, or if none of your imported games match your lines, you'll see no drills. Add an opening with at least one line first.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your game data and drill history are tied to your account and aren't shared. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is ChessHarp free?
Yes — every feature is available to every account. ChessHarp is a personal hobby project; if it has helped your chess and you want to chip in, you can support development. Contributions are entirely optional and don't unlock anything.
How do I delete my account?
From the Account page, scroll to "Delete Account" and confirm. This permanently removes your imported games, openings, drill history, and analysis results.
